[The conference Helen came to town for went off without a hitch. She's very good at public speaking, after all. She mingled with the other speakers, falling into easy conversation with a blonde gentleman who had flown in from Germany. She asked if he would be interested in grabbing a drink with her and she agreed.
Part of her wonders if Captain Jack Harkness will remember their conversation from the other night. But at worst, she'll spend the evening in the company of a very intelligent man who seems more than willing to try to impress her.
Dressed to impress and drink in hand, Helen tips her head back and laughs at a joke her companion has made. She certainly appears to be having a good time.]
[ He's definitely not forgot about their conversation. Jack Harkness is a bit of a manwhore, but he's not stupid. Certainly not stupid enough to pass up this opportunity she has presented him with. Today is actually incident free which is rare for Cardiff. This means that Jack is free to leave when it gets to be a little later in the day. This earns him plenty of looks from Ianto, Gwen, Owen and Tosh. All surprised to see Jack flouncing off.
When he gets to the bar he lingers a bit and watches the people. When Helen breezes in though he sticks to the crows. Hanging back on purpose. Surprising her just adds to the fun of this moment. He waits and then he pushes forward. The angriest face he can muster as he pushes between the two of them. Facing the man. ]
This is what you're doing behind my back! Seducing scrawny men?
[She sees him coming just a half second before he starts in, all mock rage and possessiveness. She has to keep herself from smiling, has to remind herself that she's meant to be a cheating spouse in this scenario.]
[ Jack can sell just about anything if he puts his mind to it. There's a reason he made a damn good conman for a time. He looks like he's ready to pound this guy into the bartop. Which works for him. ]
I knew you would do this. [ He looks at her. ] I say I'm leaving and you jump into the pants of the next idiot. [ He turns to this other guy. ] I'm gonna kill you.
[The poor guy looks properly terrified at Jack's display. Setting his drink down, he shakes his head.]
Maybe I should just.... [Wow he's not even bothered by the idea of leaving Helen alone with her really angry 'husband.' That tells her a lot about his character. Helen just nods, giving him her best guilty look.]
Don't do this, darling. [She says to Jack] Don't hurt him. You know what happened last time...
