( a nod. ) I will. I don’t think I could stomach another couple of hours on a plane, ( she had just gotten here besides. ) but I want to be here. (with you. her smile widens as she reaches for his arm to squeeze it reassuringly. she had been hoping he would ask her to stay. she had made reservations at a hotel nearby in the off chance he hadn’t, because she hadn’t been about to make unwarranted assumptions, but, as she’d said, here is where she wants to be. ) Now… how about that pizza? ( no, she hasn’t forgotten. )
[He looks at her like he's seeing her for the very first time. She's wonderful. Smart, understanding, patient. He doesn't know how he got so lucky to have her in his life. But he'll take it.]
Yeah- put the order in. Pizza sounds good.
[It's more that time with her sounds good. And right now that time involves pizza.]
... ( as soon as he looks at her like that her cheeks start to color. she realizes this a moment later and has to look aside in embarrassment, because, even now, he has that kind of effect on her. ) Though, ( she swallows, looking at her watch as she forces a bubble of laughter. ) It's almost 3:30. I'm not so sure we're going to be able to get pizza... not unless I send Happy to 711 and he grabs DiGiorno's. It's not delivery, but. ( pep looks back at him and smiles. don't mind the dumb joke. ) Or we can make something here. ( moving from the sofa she offers him a hand. ) How about we go take a look. I'm sure a bunch of men buy more than beer and doritos...
Don't be so sure. [He honestly hasn't gone shopping for his own food in awhile. He's been too busy wallowing in self pity and anger. But he relents and gets up to move with her to the kitchen. It's only once he stands that he feels the effect of all the liquor he's had tonight, causing him to be a little unsteady.]
( her smile almost waves, but she doesn't let it. she can't. she's doing her best to be strong for the both of them right now, even though she's still not one hundred perfect sure of herself. ) I guess we'll see.
( so much for not frowning. the moment she notices his instability her smile fades, her hand finding his shirt to take a fist full as she helps him to find his balance. she lifts her eyes to meet his as she wonders just how much he's had to drink. ) Maybe you should stay here.
( she doesn't want to leave him here, alone, because she gets the feeling that he'll do more bad than good bumbling around the kitchen like this. ) I'm sure I'll find something for the both of us ( more him than her. ) to eat. Just let me take care of everything... including you.
[He makes his way over to a nearby wall to sturdy himself.]
Yeah? Alright. You know where everything is anyway. [He's not as drunk as he could be, but he hasn't eaten much and it's catching up with him. He makes his way back to the couch and sits back down.]
I do. ( and she kind of sort of knew her way around the compound. she had been there a couple of times so it shouldn’t be all that hard to navigate. leaving him on the couch she left for the kitchen. there wasn’t all that much to be found, but it’s not like she couldn’t make do. making him a sandwich and some soup she returned to the living room, setting the tray down on the table and returning to the seat she’d had beside him. ) Hey. ( laying her hand to his forehead and brushing his bangs back she gave him a small smile. ) I made you something with what you had here, so hopefully it’s not too bad.
[Thankfully, he doesn't go right back to drinking while she's hard at work to make him something worthwhile to eat. With every passing second, he realizes just how lucky he is to have her.]
I'm sure it's great. [He says, giving her a little smile and leaning into her touch.] Thank you. For coming over, for all of this.
( she manages a meager smile, herself, as she leans over to set a kiss to his forehead. ) Don't thank me. ( because they weren't out of the woods yet. she also didn't feel like she deserved to be thanked for doing what she should have been doing all along; keeping the both of them together. and, no, she doesn't just mean in the literal sense. )
I'm not so sure I would have been able to stay away much longer. ( she didn't mean to sound like a sap, but she did still love him. the stress had driven her to make a brash decision that she'd forced the both of them to endure because she'd been too proud to admit her mistake because the break had done nothing but reinforce her feelings for him. ) I missed this. I... missed you. ( flaws and all. )
